Magic, and it’s not particularly easy to learn. The easiest way to learn it is having someone else teach you. The hardest way is with the instruction booklet. But once you got it, it’s a vary strategic fun game!

My family likes to play Phase 10 – it’s like rummy with a twist. It’s very easy to learn and is a blast to play.

Razz. It’s 7-stud where you try to make the worst hand. It’s a lot of funny and easy to learn but has subtle complexities that you will pick up in time. It does have an event at the World Series of Poker every year as well, so even if people make fun of it there are many of us who make/supplement our income on our mastery of this game.

Traditional card game: Cribbage. You can learn it in one sitting with some one to teach you, but mastering it can take a while. Only drawback is that you will need a cribbage board.

Collectable Card Game: Shadowfist. It’s a game based on Hong Kong (and some American) action films. It’s a blast to play, and can be played with any number of players. The learning curve is about on par with Magic: the Gathering. One advantage over Magic is that you don’t have to worry about banned cards or Type 1 vs Type 2 tournament formats.

Bridge is the granddaddy of all card games. Takes 4 people. Poker, all kinds. You don’t have to gamble, you can play for matches, or plastic chips that have no value. Hand and Foot, it is a form of canasta. Cribbage, none, hearts, spades, crazy 8s. Go to the library or any book store. You ‘ll find books with 100s of card games.

My favorite is “Magic: The Gathering” and for me it wasn’t difficult at all. What can be difficult are the new abilities or rules that appear every now and then. The cards are awesome and if you know someone who can teach you then great cuz it’s easier that way (like said above). If you want an easy game, Harry Potter can be real easy to learn but I didn’t like it much. I hear Yu-gi-oh! can be easy as well but I’ve hardly played it at all…

Rummy 500 and it takes five minutes to learn

Try Spider. All you do is move only what belongs to that suit. No knowledge required. You just cant be colorblind to red and black, know how to count down and able to see the shapes (spades, diamonds, etc).
