On the computer game “Sims Deluxe Edition” do the kids grow up to be adults eventually?

I know that when the baby is born, he/she grows up to be a kid. But does the kid grow up to be an adult on the Sims Deluxe Edition computer game?

Okayy well it would be easier to show you but on the bottom left corner i believe there is a picture of a baby, then toddle, then kid, then adult , then old man and if your child is a kid it will say how many more days til it becomes an adult. i think its like 28 sim days
