Matthew Castro asked:

The reputation of a video game tester is very crucial to their success. If they are known as a video game tester who always puts off their projects and never meets their deadlines, than why in the world would they Even consider about hiring you? There is no reason whatsoever. In order to be a good video game tester and to see fast results, you need to start working your **** off. Your not going to see those thousands of dollars in your paychecks if you don’t do any work equal to it.

You have to stop being lazy. Video game testers have deadlines to meet whenever they are presented with a video game to test. In that deadline they have to find as many glitches and bugs as they can possibly find. Once they do that they have to address those glitches and prepare to explain them. It’s a hard task, but the more you work on it the better you’ll become at it.

It is basically a system of trial and error.

If one tactic didn’t work, stop using that tactic and move on to the next one. You won’t get any better unless you start challenging yourself. So I recommend that you start setting goals at the beginning of the day. Say that your going to work 3 hours on that video game today and find at least one glitch. Then on the next day say that your going to find at least two glitches, etc., but don’t make those goals too hard. Make them believable or else you’ll burn out and stop doing it.

Just go by the motto of…

SLOW AND STEADY WINS THE RACE!

There was this older man that would talk to you every time you passed a different level (like a skit). You would advance and get to drive a better car each time. The cars were not real race cars and it wasn’t like on a real race track, not on the streets either. You would race in these weird places, kinda looked futuristic.
